Hyundai Creta, Verna, Elite i20, Nios, others: Domestic sales of automaker fall 2.1 percent in July 2020

Hyundai Motor India has reported a decline of two .1 percent in domestic sales to 38,200 units in July 2020. The automaker had sold 39,010 units in July 2019.

According to Hyundai Motor India, the vehicles just like the 2020 Hyundai Creta, 2020 Hyundai Verna, Hyundai Venue, Hyundai Elite i20, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios were in good demand during the month.

The export sales of Hyundai Motor India stood at 3,100 units in July 2020, as against 18,300 units within the year-ago month, registering a huge fall of 83.1 percent.

So far because the cumulative sales (domestic + exports) of the automaker are concerned, there was a drop of 27.93 percent to 41,300 units in July 2020 from 57,310 units in July 2019.

However, Hyundai Motor India’s cumulative sales are rising on the month-on-month basis since April 2020, when it had sold just one,341 units amidst the nationwide lockdown announced thanks to the coronavirus outbreak. While the figure stood at 12,583 units in May 2020, it was 26,820 units in June 2020.

In July 2020, the new Hyundai Tucson was launched in India. Priced between Rs 22.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 27.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift rivals the likes of Skoda Karoq, Volkswagen T-Roc, Jeep Compass, and Tata Harrier.

Hyundai Motor India also introduced the Venue with the iMT (intelligent manual transmission) within the country last month. The new Hyundai Venue it is being offered with the 1.0-liter Kappa Turbo-GDI petrol engine that delivers 120PS and 172Nm of peak torque. The 2020 Hyundai Venue iMT price starts at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Besides, the second-generation Hyundai Creta crossed 55,000 bookings during the month. Launched in India in March 2020, the new Hyundai Creta is out there within the Rs 9.99 lakh-Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price range and challenges Kia Seltos, 2020 Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Harrier.
